Hey everyone,
As the title of this update spells out, The Last Ember #1: Reforged is currently at the printer!
This year has really thrown us for a loop, as it has everyone, we know. We're sorry for the long delay, but we think you'll be pleased with the final product when it reaches you!
SUPER LIMITED VIRGIN VARIANTS
Speaking with Rich at Comic Impressions, where we're printing the book, we decided to do something special with a couple of the virgin variants.
For Cover E (Virgin Variant of Cover A by Rudi Sucipto), we are doing a glittery metallic paper!
For Cover G (Virgin Variant of Cover C by Federico Sabbatini and Andrea Celestini) we are doing foil!
Both of these will be very limited. But if you got these during the campaign, yours are being upgraded to the metallic and foil! Surprise!

CELESTIAL FALCON #2 PRELAUNCH
Our next campaign will be launching soon with issue 2 of Celestial Falcon, which I co-write. This is a coming of age superhero book that deals with supernatural threats.
In this issue, secrets are revealed and the main character, Chris, sets out on an epic journey.
Plus there's a huge shark scene!

Hey everyone!
I just confirmed payment for the shipment, so the books, bookmarks, bookplate and prints are on their way! I also ordered the coasters, so I just have to order the magnets, and everything should be arriving soon!
Now that the books are on the way, surveys will be going out shortly, so keep an eye out for those!

About 12 hours ago, the campaign ended and The Last Ember #1: Reforged was successfully funded at 236% with $3,544 and 165 backers!
My hope was for this campaign to make $3,000. About halfway through, I knew I'd be happy with $2,500. Seeing it go beyond and blow through EVERY SINGLE STRETCH GOAL was not only unexpected, but, well, freaking awesome if I might be blunt!
I am, as my wife put it last night, "Over the moon!" in the aftermath of this campaign, and I owe it to ALL of you! THANK YOU!
I can only hope that your support pays back with a great story that you enjoy and (hopefully) leaves you eagerly anticipating more!
What Happens Now?
You know the drill. Over the next couple of weeks, Kickstarter will be charging cards for your pledges, and shortly after, I'll receive the funds.
I don't plan on waiting for those funds before sending the files to the printer, though. As you know, the book is COMPLETELY DONE. So as soon as I figure out just how many I need of each cover and item, etc., I will send the files over to the printer. My hope is to get that all done THIS WEEKEND.
Somewhere in there, I'll be sending out the Surveys, and please be prompt in filling those out so there are no delays. You should get an email at whatever email your Kickstarter account is tied to, but you can always just go to Kickstarter.com and you'll see a red banner at the top of the page when you have a survey to fill out!
My printer, Comic Impressions, has a pretty fast turnaround time. That said, they have been VERY busy lately, so I will probably get the books in about 2-3 weeks after I send them the files.
Digital rewards should go out by Monday, but I'll let you know if that changes.
One Thing to Note
I am moving on July 8th. by the time funds are processed and books are shipped, that shouldn't affect anything in terms of fulfillment. By then, I should be settled, but just in case any unforeseen issues arise, I wanted to make a note of it here.

If you are a backer of the Celestial Falcon #1: Deluxe Edition campaign AND you backed THIS campaign, those books will arrive here on Monday! And speaking of Celestial Falcon, that is scheduled to be our next Kickstarter, for issue 2. So stay tuned for updates on that!
The Next Issue of The Last Ember
I have one more round of edits to do on the script for the next issue, then it will be going off immediately to Federico. As soon as he schedule allows (likely in August), he will be starting on the art for that issue. The plan is to launch in late October as of right now, and I will update you periodically right here as that issue progresses!

I can't thank you enough, and II will likely keep thanking you! Old fans and new fans alike, I am so excited for you to get this book and I can't wait to hear your feedback on it! When I decided to launch this version, I was hesitant and wasn't sure if it would get the support it needed. You all went above and beyond and proved to me I made the right call, and that going forward it's only going to get better!

I am EXTREMELY excited for next issue and the story myself and the new creative team are going to be telling/showing you. I think you're going to really dig the direction it's headed!

Where We Are Right Now

Hey everyone!
It seems some of you would like an update, and with the last update being a month ago, we completely understand that! Sorry about the long silence!
So, we did receive the funds a couple of weeks ago. As you know, we were moving in the middle of that. Well, moving took a lot longer than we anticipated, and we just got our (almost) final load into the house the day before yesterday! I literally just hooked up my computer a couple of hours ago as I'm typing this.
A few hours ago as I was putting my desk back together and getting everything ready in my new office/den.
Just now, desk is set up, for the most part!
The "den" side of things so far.
With all of that going on, we have not had time to get the files sent off to the printer, but I assure you, that will happen THIS WEEK!
As soon as those files are sent off, I'll post another update. So look for that later this week!
